Joint Health Sciences Center
The Joint Health Sciences Center (JHSC) in downtown Camden, NJ, is the latest example of the city’s resurgence as a hub for medical research and education. The 125,000-square-foot facility is the result of a partnership between three of New Jersey’s leading academic institutions – Rowan University, Rutgers-Camden University and the Camden County College – and will serve as an advanced research and medical training facility.
STV is serving as the owner’s representative for the $70 million project and providing construction management services. The building was designed by HOK to encourage students from multiple academic disciplines to work collaboratively with shared laboratories, equipment, classrooms and “soft spaces” such as cafes and study areas.
Construction on the JHSC began in May 2017 and is expected to be completed by spring of 2019.
