STV is assisting the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey as part of its redevelopment contract with John F. Kennedy International Airport for the deployment of Early Action Traffic Systems (EATS), which includes Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) devices and upgrades to traffic signal infrastructure for real-time monitoring of traffic conditions and dissemination of information to airport patrons.

The systems will allow the Airport Operations Center to monitor passenger travel to and from the airport and to react to unanticipated operational issues during redevelopment activities. ITS subsystem designs included magnetometer vehicle detection systems, microwave vehicle detection systems, video imaging detection systems, dynamic message signs, and traffic surveillance cameras.
