Snehal Shah

NEW YORK, NY – STV, a leading professional services firm that plans, designs and manages infrastructure projects across North America, today announced that Snehal Shah, M.E., P.E., has been named vice president and engineering chief within the transportation northeast group. In this new role, Shah will be at the forefront of driving innovation and excellence in project delivery, instrumental in shaping the future of prominent STV projects and contributing to the expansion of the transportation practice in the region.

"Snehal upholds a strong commitment to major project delivery, demonstrating expertise in navigating projects to successful completion while managing the simultaneous demands associated with planning, environmental impacts as well as engineering and construction functions,” said Richard Amodei, president of transportation northeast at STV.

Prior to joining STV, Shah served as the deputy chief engineer for the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT), orchestrating the daily activities of six concurrent multi-billion-dollar super mega projects. These transformative endeavors included the Hunts Point Access improvements and Van Wyck Expressway projects, where Shah played a pivotal part in optimizing the construction sequencing. His strategic approach ensured minimal disruption to the critical access routes to John F. Kennedy International Airport and the Hunts Point Food Distribution Market, specifically catering to the needs of the public and facilitating seamless access for commercial truck traffic.

“Leveraging over 30 years of expertise gained at the NYSDOT, particularly in coordinating multi-stakeholder construction projects in the New York region, Snehal brings invaluable insights to our ongoing and future portfolio of projects,” said Peter Pappas, P.E., vice president and New York metro area manager at STV. “This role isn't just about technical prowess; it's about translating complexities into solutions that propel us forward.”

Shah is a graduate of the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda in Gujarat, India, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering majoring in precast concrete and a Master’s of Science in Civil Engineering, majoring in highway and transportation. He has published reports on the study of flexible pavement design variables for urban and rural roads, as well as the design of prestressed concrete sleepers for railways.

STV has a long-standing track record providing a wide range of engineering design, program management and construction management services in support of transformative transportation infrastructure programs nationwide. Select marquee projects include the Betsy Ross Interchange Reconstruction, Gateway Program Hudson River Tunnel, Second Avenue Subway Phase II and Portal North Bridge Replacement.
