Food Drive

Employees in STV’s Chicago office recently took part in a virtual food drive to support the Greater Chicago Food Depository. After setting an initial donation goal of 3,000 meals, the team went on to surpass their target and has contributed more than 1,000 additional meals to date.

Linda Dainis, administrative services manager in our Chicago office, oversaw the initiative. Prior to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Chicago employees had formed a committee to select volunteer and fundraising opportunities. Once employees transitioned to working from home, Linda sought out virtual campaigns as a way for the Chicago office to give back.

“There are so many worthwhile organizations in need right now,” Linda said. “Many people are suffering from food insecurity, and donations provides one of the basic essentials that most of us take for granted.”

To get our involvement in this initiative off the ground, Linda helped coordinate with the depository so a dedicated “STV Chicago Cares” campaign page was created. Over a two-month span, the virtual format allowed visitors to the site to donate essential food items from the online “pantry,” or make a financial donation to provide three meals for every dollar.
