Walters Middle School

As part of a larger task order contract for the Fremont Unified School District (FUSD) STV, in joint venture, provided construction management services for additions and renovations to Walters Junior High School. The project included modernization of 10 existing classroom buildings as well as the construction of three new classroom buildings in preparation for campus conversion from a junior high school to a middle school and the subsequent addition of a 6th grade student population.

In this role, STV oversaw a detailed schedule to facilitate and expedite all phases of construction. The firm also played a significant role in facilitating the assessment and containment of naturally-occurring contaminants found in the soil. Working with several government organizations, STV served as a facilitator between FUSD, designers, and environmental organizations to update the project’s design, accelerate permitting, and mitigate any risks to the student population.
