In-Tech Academy M.S./H.S. 368

STV was contracted by the New York City School Construction Authority (NYCSCA) to design the three-story, 168,000-square-foot In-Tech Academy M.S./H.S. 368 in the Kingsbridge section of the Bronx. This unique facility integrates technology, general education, and college preparation services. In addition to serving as the design architect, STV performed civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, geotechnical and site engineering design services for the facility.

In-Tech Academy was the first school in the NYCSCA system to accommodate special education, middle school and high school students in one building. Each of these student populations occupies independent areas within the facility, while also sharing core support program areas. As part of its design strategy, STV grouped together certain classrooms and facilities, like a music/performing arts suite, and a science suite, to enhance team teaching and shared academic communication.
