High School of Telecommunication Arts and Technology

The historic High School of Telecommunication Arts and Technology is a brick and stone structure noteworthy for its classical design and detailing. It is protected under the New York State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) guidelines for historic structures.

STV performed a condition assessment of the school and grounds. After reviewing the assessment, the New York City School Construction Authority contracted the firm to provide architectural, engineering, and cost estimating services for upgrades throughout the five-story, 135,000-square-foot facility, as well as design for a new, four-story, 20,000-square-foot addition. To address SHPO requirements, STV developed a series of schematic models that allowed the client, neighborhood representatives, and other stakeholders to work with the firm to select the best design option.
