STV provided architectural and interior design, as well as structural engineering design services for a new 258,000-square-foot residence hall on Kutztown University’s South Campus—a $53 million six-story building with a total of 856 beds. Known as Dixon Hall, the building is divided into two separate areas, each with a main entrance and lobby, laundry room, offices, vending area, and student living areas.

The living areas include 245 junior suites comprised of two single or double occupancy bedrooms as well as fully ADA compliant units. STV also provided engineering services for a 3,000-square-foot convenience store and ice cream parlor in the retail space of the complex. The firm incorporated many sustainable elements into its design, including water-efficient landscaping, lighting controls, daylighting for the living areas and recycled and regionally sourced materials.
