Brighton to Roxford Double Track Project

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) tasked STV with providing engineering design, environmental permitting, and design support services for the development of a second track along the Antelope Valley Line corridor. This 10.4 mile stretch in the San Fernando Valley is also a vital corridor for the Union Pacific Railroad and its 35 freight and passenger trains that uses the line each day as well as Southern California Regional Rail Authority who operates 15 round trips per day.

The firm’s scope of work includes modifications to 16 at-grade crossings; three new railroad bridges to support the second track; and a grade-separated pedestrian crossing to provide access to a second platform at the planned North Burbank Station, which is currently under development. The construction of a second track on Metro-owned right-of-way is expected to enhance safety, operational reliability, flexibility, and on-time performance.
