As part of an expansion of its the Boehm Science Center, Kutztown University selected STV to prepare a feasibility study for a new botanical research facility on campus. The proposed 1,400-square-foot facility will include a new greenhouse, headhouse and connecting corridor to the campus’ existing greenhouse. 

The study will detail civil, architectural, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, civil and electrical design challenges. These include individual plumbing and ventilation systems for the headhouse and greenhouse, as well as unique lighting and temperature requirements for each space. The firm is also studying the feasibility of an underground cistern with the intent of using the captured rainwater for irrigation.
