Chuck Kohler, P.E., S.E., Joins STV as Chief Operating Officer

STV has hired Chuck Kohler, P.E., S.E., a highly experienced design and construction industry professional, as its new chief operating officer.

In this role, Kohler will oversee the daily operations of the company. The executive vice presidents of STV’s four core divisions (Transportation & Infrastructure, Buildings & Facilities, Construction Management, and Energy Services), will report directly to him, and Kohler will report directly to STV’s president and chief executive officer, Milo Riverso, Ph.D., P.E., CCM. Kohler will be based in the firm’s New York office.

“Chuck is an accomplished engineering and construction professional who, over the course of his more than 30-year career, has consistently demonstrated strong business, operations and project delivery skills,” Riverso said. “His expertise is drawn from the various ‘in-the-trenches’ roles he has served in, spanning five continents and a wide range of market sectors.”

Prior to joining STV, Kohler amassed industry experience in almost every engineering and construction professional service role, including engineer, division manager, project/program manager, operations director and corporate executive. Most recently, he was the global director of project operations for a major design/construction consultancy firm, where he was responsible for supporting the company’s program management, capability development and risk management efforts worldwide.

Kohler holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in civil engineering from the University of Illinois at Champaign, and a Master of Business Administration degree in finance and international business from Northwestern University. He is a registered professional engineer and a licensed structural engineer.
