LAX Landside Access Modernization Program

STV, in a joint venture, is leading the development and evaluation of alternatives to enhance ground transportation options at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). One option is the Landside Access Modernization Program (LAMP), which is geared toward reducing the number of vehicles entering the airport’s Central Terminal Area.

A major component for LAMP is a 2.25-mile-long Automated People Mover Systems that will connect the CTA with two intermodal Transfer Facilities, the regional rail system and a Consolidated Rental Car Facility. The second option involves the LA Metro’s airport Metro Connector (AMC), which aims to provide a connection between the people mover and the Metro Crenshaw Line, enabling passengers to take mass transit to the airport. STV is leading facilities planning and engineering for the LAMP project and performing environmental services for the AMC initiative.
