The Girard Academic Music Program (GAMP) is a music and performing arts magnet school in Philadelphia that serves more than 500 students in grades 5-12. STV was selected to provide construction management services as part of the school’s comprehensive expansion program. Improvements included the addition of a performing arts space with an auditorium that seats more than 600 people, as well as dressing rooms, a scene shop, and public restrooms. Renovations also included additional space for a gymnasium, cafeteria and classrooms for music, computer, and art studies.

To accommodate GAMP’s performance space needs, the firm prepared estimates for power, lighting, and sound for the theater space, with added life safety upgrades that included fire alarms, a P.A. system, and emergency backup. STV’s cost estimating, value engineering, and scheduling contributed to the timely and under-budget completion of the facility while minimizing disruption to students, faculty, and staff during construction.
