STV provided the design of a 100,000-sf Low Containment Large Animal Facility (Biosafety Level 2) for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. This facility includes five wings and central utility services that are used to research a variety of animal diseases, including those affecting chickens through cattle and horses. Both the Agricultural Research Service and the Animal Plant Health Inspection Services use this research facility, located at the National Centers for Animal Health in Ames, IA.
