The Hoboken Ferry Terminal is one of the last grand operating ferry terminals in the country and is an integral part of the Hoboken Terminal, the largest multimodal terminal in the New York Metro area. The restoration of ferry service at the Ferry Terminal marks the completion of a massive $120 million, nine-year redevelopment and rehabilitation project at the NJ TRANSIT-owned terminal. STV served as project manager for the team and also provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, communication and security design services. The project encompassed extensive repairs and restoration to the façade and East Vestibule, as well as the installation of barges, gangways, canopies and ticketing offices. Completed in three phases, the work also included the replication of the terminal’s historic clock tower and the rehabilitation of the Team Concourse, Brick Alley and five ferry slips.
