Bus Transportation | Bus Stations and DepotsGeorge Washington Bridge Bus Station Redevelopment Program (New York, NY)
The George Washington Bridge Bus Station, located in Upper Manhattan, was designed by noted engineer Pier Luigi Nervi and completed in 1962. STV is now serving as program architect and architect/engineer-of-record for the bus station’s redevelopment program, which will comply with The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey’s sustainability guidelines. Bus operations, which today are located throughout the facility, will be consolidated at the uppermost historic rooftop truss level. The redevelopment program provides a unique opportunity to develop a large-scale destination and neighborhood retail venue.
