STV provided architectural and interior design, civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical design and construction administration services for a design-build controlled humidity storage facility. The 70,600-sf facility is equipped with temperature and humidity controls capable of maintaining a minimum winter temperature of 45 degrees Fahrenheit and a maximum summer temperature of 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Based on a similar facility in Gulfport, MS, the Fort Dix structure consists of a concrete frame with precast concrete exterior wall panels, a reinforced concrete floor and a precast concrete roof. STV designed fire protection systems for the project. The firm was also responsible for stormwater management and Pinelands permit requirements.
