Architectural DesignAT&T International Earth Satellite Communications Station Electrical Systems Upgrade (Roaring Creek, PA)
STV designed an earth satellite communications station for AT&T International. It is the largest complex of its kind in the International Satellite Communications Organization (INTELSAT) system. STV provided architectural, engineering, and construction management services for the main control building, which includes three 32-meter fully steerable communications antennas and one 13-meter fixed antenna, communications equipment areas, two 800kVA uninterruptible power supplies, two 2,500kW gas turbine standby generators, paralleling/transfer switchgear, administrative offices, and a maintenance facility. More recently, STV provided design and construction management services to improve the electrical reliability and availability of the station, which provides up- and downlink paths for international and domestic public and military communications traffic.
