StructuralValley Region High School #9 (Van Nuys, CA)
STV provided architectural and engineering design services, construction documents, and construction support to the Los Angeles Unified School District for the addition of an 810-student high school on the Robert Fulton College Preparatory School campus. New buildings include a two-story, 62,000-sf classroom building; a 16,666-sf gymnasium; an 8,110-sf library; and a 2,000-sf maintenance building. The scope of work for the $68 million project also included remodeling the campus food services building and adding a new track and soccer field. STV incorporated many sustainable elements into its design, including reflective roof surfaces, daylighting for the classrooms, super efficient HVAC units, lighting controls, high efficiency lighting systems, operable windows for natural ventilation, waterless urinals and drought tolerant plantings/landscaping.
