STV provided construction management services for Commodore John Barry Elementary School, a new 94,000-sf facility that was awarded LEED Gold certification by the U.S. Green Building Council. Significant savings in cost and time were achieved at the school, thanks to STV’s recommendations. When the building architect proposed a masonry curtain wall system with brick fascia, STV recommended an insulated metal panel system, effectively reducing construction time by two months and producing a savings of approximately $4 million. The project was part of a larger five-year Capital Improvement Program for the School District of Philadelphia.
