The Great River Bridge is the primary north-south route over the Westfield River and through the City of Westfield. STV provided project management, planning, structural, roadway, electrical, and railroad engineering for the design and construction of a sister bridge, which is identical in appearance to the Great River Bridge. STV also provided engineering services for the rehabilitation of the existing Great River Bridge, a 368-foot, two-span continuous through truss structure. In addition STV designed a replacement for a 280-foot railroad viaduct which carries CSX trains through downtown Westfield. The project includes new public riverfront parks.
