STV prepared the site development and construction plans for Brewer’s Hill, a 29-acre parcel in Baltimore. The firm had to work within the constraints of a Planned Unit Development (PUD), which was created to allow the redevelopment of the site for office, commercial, retail and residential uses. Using sustainable design elements was a key requirement of the client. To that end, STV's design included a one-of-a-kind conversion of existing beer tanks into basins for stormwater runoff, which is also used as gray water for toilets. Another sustainable design feature was a green roof atop a 14-story building. The project was the first in Maryland to receive Green Tax Credits.
