STV performed comprehensive architectural design, engineering and construction administration services for the design-build construction of a 92,000-sf facility for the Franklin Jail and House of Corrections. The two-story freestanding building was designed to house 300 inmates. STV incorporated natural light into the design through the use of large windows throughout to reduce tension and humanize an otherwise institutional facility. The protection of wetlands was a critical issue during construction.
