Greenbush Line Rail Restoration (Scituate, Cohasset, Hingham, Weymouth, Braintree, MA)
STV served as the primary design consultant for the joint venture design-build team for the Greenbush Line Rail Restoration, an 18-mile diesel rail line, which includes seven stations, parking facilities, railroad and highway bridges, underpasses and a layover facility. The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority launched the project to restore commuter rail service on the existing right-of-way known as the Greenbush Corridor to reduce auto traffic on the congested highways leading into Boston from the South Shore. STV was responsible for all engineering and architectural design as well as the management of all design consultants for the project. It won a Gold Award in the Transportation category in the American Council of Engineering Companies of Massachusetts' 2010 Engineering Excellence Awards.
