Bridges | Design and ConstructionRobert Moses Causeway Southbound and Northbound Bridge Rehabilitation (Suffolk County, NY)
The Robert Moses Causeway gracefully spans Long Island’s Great South Bay. Located on the southwestern shore of Suffolk County, the Causeway is a vital link between the mainland of Long Island and more than 1,170 acres of recreational and park facilities. STV provided in-depth structural inspection of the Causeway’s landmark twin bridges. The firm provided design services for its rehabilitation, including replacement of all approach stringer spans and all decks, design report preparation, preliminary rehabilitation design, final design of the roadway portion, and coordination of final design with New York State for the structural portion of the project.
