STV/RWA provided structural design services for this new interchange, which included a dual two-span, 312-foot-long prestressed girder bridge. The project involved mechanically stabilizing earth walls, staging construction to replace an existing four-span bridge, and 156-foot-long Bulb-T girders for the two- and three-lane bridges. The project received a Significant Concrete Structure award from the Florida First Coast Chapter of the American Concrete Institute in 2004 and an award for Florida’s Best in Construction from the Florida Transportation Builders Association in 2005.
