Cedar Creek Pipeline Relocation (Lake Township, OH)
STV’s client owns and operates an 8-inch refined petroleum products pipeline that was discovered to be exposed within two creek beds during routine inspection. Two additional active lines owned and operated by another petroleum company are located within the same pipeline right-of-way. STV’s project involved installation of a new 8-inch, horizontal directionally drilled (HDD) pipeline, 660 feet long, to eliminate the exposed sections of pipe with minimal environmental impacts and no operational impacts to the other pipelines within the common right-of-way. The remainder of the relocation was installed via standard trenching. Upon completion of the relocation, the existing pipeline was cleaned and removed between the tie-ins. STV provided planning, design engineering, environmental permitting and HDD oversight.
