STV provided design for the renovation of an existing Port Authority of New York & New Jersey facility in New Jersey, relocating the traffic control and surveillance functions to a new, high-tech Traffic Management Center (TMC). The TMC, as the brain of the Lincoln Tunnel security system, allows the Port Authority’s staff to conduct comprehensive, around-the-clock surveillance of every part of the tunnel through a cutting-edge closed-circuit television (CCTV) system, with images displayed on plasma-screen monitors. The three-tube Lincoln Tunnel provides a vital link between midtown Manhattan and central New Jersey.
