To help ease congestion in the fast-developing area east of the Beltway, the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority launched a fast-track project to extend its Blue Line from Addison Road to the Largo Town Center. STV, as part of a joint venture design-build team, provided architectural, structural and communications design for the new $40 million Morgan Boulevard Station and communications design for the Largo Station, an award-winning project. STV also designed the Largo Town Center Station 1,979-space commuter parking garage, which includes a pedestrian bridge that connects multilevel parking on each side of the station.
