STV designed a four-story classroom addition for the High School of Telecommunication Arts & Technology. Built in 1917, the school and grounds are protected under the New York State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) guidelines for historic structures. STV’s design for the 20,000-sf addition looks compatible with the existing historic building in terms of materials, massing and scale. The firm also provided architectural and engineering services for the renovation of the auditorium in the school building. The renovation included a complete refurbishment of the auditorium interior to restore it to its original appearance. In addition, STV designed improvements to the school’s HVAC and mechanical systems.
