Senior Associate, Environmental Market Leader, Central Region
Mr. Sottung is a senior environmental scientist and project manager with more than 25 years of diversified environmental experience. He has extensive expertise in detailed site investigations, soil remediation design, ecological risk assessment, and benthic macroinvertebrate and fish sampling methods for private and government clients.
His specialized areas of expertise include comprehensive site studies in support of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation including environmental assessments, categorical exclusions, and Findings of No Significant Impact.
Mr. Sottung has managed project teams responsible for all aspects of ten NEPA environmental assessment programs at a government training facility in Virginia, as well as for numerous other projects requiring hazardous waste investigations, wetland delineations/habitat assessments, and cultural resource surveys. He also coordinated efforts with local, state and federal environmental regulatory agencies and is experienced in client management, project scoping, conflict resolution, project budgets, manpower scheduling and tracking, administration, and management of various subcontractor agreements for each project. Mr. Sottung also serves as the Environmental Market Leader for STV's Central Region. In this role, he is responsible for all aspects of business development, including proposals, formal presentations and client meetings.
He received his Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology from St. Francis College of the University of New England.
