Tony Corteal has been with STV for close to 40 years. He has extensive experience with higher education projects, including Jefferson Hall - U.S. Military Academy Library and Learning Center and
U.S. Military Academy Preparatory School, both at West Point, NY. Over the years he has also been involved with the development of numerous facilities at the University of Maryland Baltimore's Biopark. Prior to becoming Higher Education National Practice Leader in May 2012, he directed the Land Development practice. In that role he directed master plans and land use plans and was the principal-in-charge for the preparation of more than 2,000 individual development projects, ranging in size from 2,500 sf to 1,000 acres.
Mr. Corteal has been engaged in real estate and urban development for most of his career and he has routinely performed permitting and cost estimating for numerous mixed use redevelopment projects. As head of STV’s site development group, he was directly involved in some of the landmark projects, such as Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, the American Can Company revitalization and the Dundalk and Seagirt marine terminals. With each project, Mr. Corteal presented the proposed development to community groups and executive boards and worked directly with the public and stakeholders to address their concerns and implement solutions.
He received his Associate of Arts in Business Management from Essex Community College and his Associate of Arts in Architectural design from the Maryland Institute.
