(From L to R) Deborah Jordan, Meghan McDevitt & Melinda Johnson

Three STV employees were recently recognized by a leading legislative advocacy group for their roles in championing the empowerment of women and promoting diversity in the construction industry.

The Women Builders Council, a leading voice for women in the construction industry in New York State, named both Melinda Johnson, vice president of the firm’s New York Operations, Buildings & Facilities Division, and Deborah Jordan, a program director overseeing several public sector projects, as Outstanding Women for 2018. Meghan McDevitt, an assistant project manager, supporting several high-profile projects within the housing, healthcare, and aviation market sectors, was selected as one of WBC’s 2018 Next Generation of Women Builders.

“We are delighted and privileged to recognize your outstanding accomplishments in the building industry,” said WBC executive director Renee Sacks, Ph.D. “You are an important role model for women in our industry and throughout all of New York’s business communities.”

The WBC works to empower women through legislative advocacy, new business development and professional development and provides a forum for members to advance industry knowledge and address barriers preventing women from growing and facilitates solutions for policy makers and industry leaders.
