Thomas W. Butcher Joins STV as Chief Financial Officer

Thomas W. Butcher, CPA, has joined STV as chief financial officer. In this role, he will oversee the firm’s corporate financial management and its information technology department.

Butcher brings more than 25 years of experience in corporate finance to STV, most recently in the architectural, engineering, and construction management industries. Prior to joining STV, he was the chief financial officer and treasurer of a privately-held civil engineering firm. In that role, he also served as administrator of the firm’s employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) and a member of its 401(k) committee and strategic planning group. Butcher began his career with the global accounting firm Ernst & Young, LLP.

Butcher earned his Master of Business Administration degree from the University of New Hampshire and bachelor’s degrees in accounting and history from Marietta College. He is a Certified Public Accountant.

Butcher is replacing Peter W. Knipe, who retired from STV as CFO after 34 years with the firm. Knipe will continue to consult with the firm and will remain a member of STV’s Board of Directors.
